New Boats 2024

Our boating lifestyle is one of seasons – from inspired spring fitting out, through long, glorious summer days, to the reluctant autumnal buttoning up for winter. Unless there are boat projects at hand, any self-respecting boater knows the best way to ride out the long wintertide is by checking out new boats. We’re now deep into “boat show season” and our BoatU.S. Magazine editors have crawled around some impressive new vessels, both big and small. Here are some that caught our eye.

Hurricane Sundeck 2050

White and blue vessel cruising open waters at sunset.

The Sundeck 2050 is all about comfort and convenience, with bow- and stern-mounted swim ladders, aft freshwater washdown, and seating for family and plenty of friends

A great entry-level boat designed to keep an active family busy, this 20-foot deck boat can both tow and fish with optional livewell and connection for trolling motor. A fixed tow tower (instead of retractable bimini top) is an eye-catching option that also gets skiers out of the hole faster. The optional shore power and backup battery provides peace of mind listening to tunes at the sandbar. The 7-inch Simrad NSX 3007 chartplotter/fishfinder and JL Audio RGC tower speakers are a cut above typical standard electronics packages of this size.

Sea Ray SPX 210

Red and white vessel speeding across the water at sunset.

Look at all the lounging space on the SPX 210’s deck layout! Sea Rays are known for both loads of standard features like Simrad electronics and quality upholstery

Here's another compact sport boat for novice boaters — or downsizers who want Sea Ray’s distinctive design and upholstery in a 21-foot deckboat. With your choice of outboard or stern drive propulsion, the deck layout is all about comfortable, versatile seating. A large ski locker and unobtrusive ski tow eye make the transition to tow and other watersports quick and easy. The standard 7-inch Simrad touchscreen display integrated with Mercury’s SmartCraft Connect enables the skipper to monitor engine systems from the helm, staying focused on a safe, fun ride for the passengers. A selfbailing cockpit keeps the deck dry.

Sea Pro 245FLX

Adult male wearing a dark long sleeve shirt and adult female in long sleeve white shirt cruising in a black and white boat in the ocean.

The 245FLX was designed for up to a 350 hp outboard (Mercury, Suzuki, or Yamaha). The hybrid design allows for lounging at the bow and fishing from the stern

From a boatbuilder known for serious fishing machines comes the “Family Sandbar Boat,” a 24-foot center console with an offshore-capable, dry riding deep-V hull paired with the seating and amenities of a deckboat. A traditional helm leaning post is replaced by two comfortable captains’ chairs that swivel 360 degrees to face a transom-spanning bench seat to keep the cockpit conversation going. There’s more cushioned seating (including a console seat atop a 20-gallon livewell) and an articulated, swiveling insert table for the bow that can also be remounted as a water-level refreshment center for food and drink while cooling your feet. Standard features that will make the ride more enjoyable include a fiberglass hard top, raw- and freshwater washdowns, and a freshwater shower. $128,629 | seapromfg.com

Bennington S and SV

Four middle-aged adults aboard a silver and red pontoon boat cruising a lake.

Adult female and adult male aboard a black and orange pontoon boat watching a dog leap into open waters.

As pontoon boats grow more well-appointed, high-end builder Bennington chose to refresh its line at the entry level with 18- and 22-foot models that cost more because they come with more. A redesigned helm features more leg room for tall skippers. On long days on the water, you’ll appreciate the lumbar-supporting benches and wireless phone charger. A lockable storage compartment adds peace of mind. A new swingback bench lets stern sitters turn around to enjoy the scenery.

Aspen L107 CLX

Three young adults and three children on a blue and white vessel cruising on a lake.

Aspen Power Catamarans are unlike other boats on the market because of their proa hull design  — one of the twin hulls is wider than the other. Inspired by the double-outrigger boats used by Pacific island cultures, the designs are great on fuel and have spacious deck accommodations. The 36-foot, 8-inch L107 is a versatile center-console with galley, enclosed head, and bow seating that converts to sleeping space. Built in the Pacific Northwest, this is a great platform for day tripping, watersports, fishing, and boat camping. Aspens are known for stability, seakeeping capabilities, and smooth rides. $345,100 | aspenpowercatamarans.com

Four Winns TH36

White vessel speeding through the water on a sunny day with a city skyline in the background.

Interior cabin of a boat featuring a white couch and seating area, track lighting and brown wood paneling and cabinets.

The versatile aft cockpit features plush seating and tables on sliders that split to offer three different layouts and a clear runway to the swim platform.

View from the deck of a vessel with bright blue waters and sunny skies in the background.

We didn't have a powercat from Four Winns on our bingo card this year! The TH36 is the builder’s first multihull and worth a look as either a weekender or dayboat. That’s because the open bow has plush seating for riding, snoozing, or dining. Tucked inside each hull is a full suite with queen bed and private heads with a separate, enclosed shower area. The beamy, fully equipped, open-air wheelhouse and cockpit area is made for entertaining. The twin-outboard-powered cat comes with joystick piloting technology for easy docking and maneuverability.

Grady-White Canyon 386

Four adults on a white vessel with numerous fishing poles on the open water at sunset.

Deck on a boat in open waters featuring two white sitting benches separated by a white table.

Spacious is what comes to mind when you step aboard the Canyon 386. It doesn’t feel like a center-console because the 13-foot, 2-inch beam opens up the cockpit for entertainment protected by a wraparound windshield, and below decks for a true weekend cabin with TV, galley, and separate head with a stand-up shower. The open bow can transform from a comfortable lounge to a casting deck. It’s still a Grady, built for offshore fishing, so rod holders, livewells, and tackle lockers are there but neatly blended into the refined interior décor. Standard propulsion is triple Yamaha F450s with integrated Helm Master boat control system. $1,014,500 | gradywhite.com

Solara S-310 Sport Coupe

Large white vessel speeding through the water on a clear sunny day.

With twin 300-hp outboard, auto-leveling trim tabs, and a double stepped deep-V hull with patented “laminar flow interrupters” to decrease pitch and roll, the S-310 SC runs fast and smooth.

Solara stands out for its creative use of space and that its boats come fully loaded. The S-310 SC is a sports coupe built for entertaining — yet somehow neatly fits in rod holders, livewell, raw-water washdown, and optional outriggers. The wraparound windshield and air conditioning/reverse cycle heat extend days on the water regardless of the temperature. Belowdecks, a climate-controlled forward stateroom and head with shower are perfect for overnighting and long stays alike. The long list of standard equipment includes twin 300-hp outboards, electronics suite, trim tabs, bow and stern cameras, autopilot, LiFePO4 house batteries, water heater, refrigerator/freezer, flat screen TV, and even a wine cooler. $383,937 | solarboats.com

Formula 457 Center Console Sport

Grey, black and red speedboat out on the ocean during a clear, sunny day.

The cherry dinette table in the cabin converts into a spacious double berth. The 386 also features dual 35-gallon livewells flanked by a 291-quart, temperature-controlled, insulated fishbox.

Luxury powerboat builder formula expanded its lineup a few years ago by adding center consoles with the same distinctive quality build and styling Formula is known for, such as a curved windshield and wipers, triple electrically adjustable helm seats, and standard 18,000 BTU air conditioning. Following the launch of the 38-foot Fish and Sport versions two years ago, the 45-foot versions are on their way, with the 457 Center Console Sport set to debut in February at the 2024 Miami International Boat Show. For now, we only have this graphic rendering of the boat.

Maritimo M60 Flybridge Motor Yacht

Large white yacht speeding through the water during the day.

Interior cabin of a vessel featuring oval tan seating area, track lighting and windows.

he M60’s fully enclosed climate-controlled flybridge sky lounge with internal staircase access provides the home-like comfort for long-range cruising and passage making.

Inside cabin of a vessel featuring glossy wood cabinets, oven, island and track lighting.

For those who dream big, from Australia comes the Maritimo M60, a luxury long-range cruising motoryacht with seakeeping capabilities enhanced by its shaft-drive propulsion system that allows for low engine position and shaft angles for a low center of gravity that help the boat perform in nasty sea conditions. Inside it’s all about luxury — a flybridge sky lounge with balcony deck, aft galley and indoor/outdoor saloon lounging area, three staterooms, and an integrated tender garage. But big dreams don’t come cheap.
